Job description

The work of a Ramp / Warehouse Agent includes the following:

  • Loading and unloading cargo (mail, express, baggage, freight, and company material) on and off aircraft.
  • Transporting cargo between terminals and aircraft.
  • Performing ramp transfers of cargo as required.
  • Receiving, delivering, and physically handling freight and company material, including export at designated express docks, mail, and baggage in the outbound baggage room.
  • Completing forms and messages related to the functions described.
  • Cleaning and servicing cabin interiors, including cockpit and lavatories, draining lavatories, and handling passenger service cabin furnishings and supplies.
  • Transporting furnishings and supplies to and from aircraft.
  • Assisting in loading, unloading, and racking drums.
  • De-icing aircraft, clearing windshields, and related guide functions.
  • Connecting/removing ground power and start units.
  • Cleaning exterior of aircraft with specialized fluids.
  • Performing routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, and facilities.
  • Monitoring security of the facility and reporting breaches or suspicious activity.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform functions in variable weather and environmental conditions.
  • Load and unload cargo weighing up to 70 lbs. and move containers up to 3,200 lbs.
  • Drive vehicles weighing from 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in congested areas, requiring good depth perception and color recognition.
  • Assist with aircraft push-out using guide functions and proper communication.
  • Transport cargo using vehicles and read destination sheets.
  • Perform ground-to-cockpit communication during push-out and towing.
  • Connect/disconnect water hoses and electric cables.
  • De-ice aircraft at heights up to 80 ft., spraying glycol on wings and fuselage.
  • Must have HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent, be at least 18 years old, and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.

Preferred Skills:

  • Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and days off.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

  • Work in high-noise environments.
  • Pull, push, and lift bags up to 70 lbs.
