Job summary

North Slope Borough School District in Alaska is seeking a dedicated food service assistant to assist in the preparation and service of nutritious school meals and snacks, while safeguarding the health of students, staff, and visitors.

The role requires a high school diploma and the ability to read and interpret procedures. You will participate in production and service, manage storage and safety tasks, and operate food service equipment in a dynamic school environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the production and service of palatable school meals.
• Participate in storage, clean up, and safety tasks.
• Operate the food service vehicles to deliver food and staff to and from the school sites.
• Expedite incoming and outgoing food to locations as required.
• Process incoming freight and check necessary paperwork.
• Lift and stock freight in appropriate storage areas. Keep all storage areas neat and clean.
• Operate a pallet jack for positioning pallets of food.
• Lift 70 pounds.
• Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the supervisor may assign.
• Adhere to all District policies and regulations.

Education and/or Experience:
