What you do:

Responsible for leading the investment research function within the broader Capital Markets team through activities such as conducting in-depth cross-sector investment research, engaging in asset class deep dives, maintaining watch lists, updating portfolio play-books, coaching junior professionals, providing regulatory oversight, and coordinating private assets pledging to FHLB for liquidity support. You will report to the AIM VP – Capital Markets and Sourcing.

• This role serves as the single point of contact for all aspects of Allianz Life general account asset manager management (AMM), working closely with Portfolio Management, Sector Strategists, Investment Analytics, Ops, Legal, and other stakeholders.
• Leads the general account AMM lifecycle across functions, including manager selection, onboarding, monitoring, and review of SMAs and funds/rated notes.
• Develops holistic manager review processes, focusing on investment performance, firm capabilities, operational aspects, benchmarking, and global alignment with AIM teams.
• Contributes to sourcing, due diligence, and onboarding processes for asset managers, excluding technical account setup and fundings.
• Partners with the Legal Team for review of SMA and fund documents, ensuring compliance with minimum requirements and standardization.
• Sits adjacent to the Head of Research & Head of Alternatives within AIM Capital Markets & Sourcing, with broad connectivity across AIM US, Allianz Life, and AIM Global communities.

What you bring:

• 8+ years of relevant insurance company investment experience with strong leadership and communication skills.
• Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience utilizing artificial intelligence tools and resources.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without future immigration sponsorship requirements.

Base Salary Range: $98,000 - $191,000. Actual salary may vary based on experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity. The position is eligible for an annual incentive.
