The Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG) Teacher provides direct and indirect instruction to students, promotes advanced learning opportunities for all students, and collaborates with school personnel to ensure differentiation for all AIG learners is administered. Instruct students through lectures, discussions, visual aids, and other effective teaching methods for student comprehension and will work in collaboration with teachers to ensure talent development strategies are created and implemented for highly able learners.
The Teacher/Licensed Employee is required to follow all Board Policies and procedures and to comply with the instructions and/or directives from his/her supervisor(s). In addition, the licensed employee shall perform in a manner that meets or exceeds each of the Standards and Elements for the applicable North Carolina evaluation process.
The failure or unwillingness of a teacher to comply with professional standards of conduct and performance may result in contract non-renewal or disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from employment.
