Job summary

Active Day is hiring Program Assistants to provide care and assist members with activities, meals, and daily living in a warm, supportive environment. Full-time, part-time and per-diem options with training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• At least one-year full-time equivalent experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Prior experience working with seniors or adults with special needs preferred but not required.
• Engaging interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to multitask and manage time effectively.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
• Able to bend, pull, push, squat, turn, transfer, and lift 50 pounds; able to stand for an extended period while providing physical assistance to members.
• Successful results of background check and where applicable state-specific regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with activities of daily living and personal care as needed (e.g. arrival and departure, eating, ambulation, transferring, therapies, rest room assistance, etc.).
• Assist in planning and facilitation of creative and diverse therapeutic recreational programs and encourage member participation.
• Serve meals and snacks and clear tables; assist with feeding as needed.
• Observe members for changes in condition or unusual occurrences; escalate concerns as appropriate.
• Maintain program areas, supplies, and equipment ensuring all are clean, disinfected, stocked, replenished and in good working order.
• Ensure the safety of members by monitoring activities, keeping a sanitary, clutter-free environment, and participating in safety training; maintain a clean, orderly, bright and welcoming center.
• Communicate in a positive, courteous and professional manner with members and their families, co-workers, referral agencies, and the community at large.
• Participate in staff meetings and in-service educational programs; collaborate with cross-functional team and provide feedback to enhance member experience.
• Comply with company policies and procedures, safety and regulatory laws and standards.
• Other duties as changed or assigned at any time.

Job Summary

Program Assistants participate in the planning and facilitation of individual and group therapeutic recreational programs that meet the needs and interests of our members. Program Assistants assist individual members with activities of daily living as needed, serve meals and snacks, and help to maintain a clean, orderly and uplifting environment.
