Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Aide Trainee at Selinsgrove Center to support individuals with intellectual disabilities. You will undertake paid classroom and on‑the‑job training, learn essential care skills, and progress to Residential Services Aide after a six‑month probation.

Duties include assisting with assessments, delivering training, tracking progress, collaborating with the team, maintaining a safe living environment, and upholding residents' rights and dignity.

Qualifications

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Aide Trainee, you will be responsible and accountable for learning the duties of a Residential Services Aide and begin with a paid in-classroom and on-the-job training program. You will learn how to care for and assist people with Intellectual Disabilities living at the Selinsgrove Center. Upon successful completion of a six-month probationary period as an Aide Trainee, you will be promoted to a Residential Services Aide.

As an Aide Trainee, you will perform the following duties:

• ISP Support: Assist with completing assigned portions of assessments and planning documents to ensure accurate information
• Training Implementation: Conduct assigned training activities to help individuals learn daily living skills
• Progress Monitoring: Record and report information to support updates and improvements to each individual’s support plan
• Team Participation: Share observations and insights with team members to support coordinated care
• Environmental Support: Help maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic living environment
• Advocacy and Respect: Model appropriate behavior and uphold individual rights and dignity

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment.
• Work hours during training: 1st shift 8:00am - 4:30pm
• Work hours after training: 1st shift 6:00am - 2:30pm, with a 30 minute lunch
• Work hours after training: 2nd shift 2:00pm - 10:30pm, with a 30 minute lunch.

• Rotating break day with every third weekend off.

• Travel and overtime as needed.
