Job summary

Magnolia ISD in Bear Branch Intermediate School seeks an Instructional Aide/PE Aide II to support teachers in classroom and physical education activities. You will assist with materials, displays, and student supervision under a certified teacher's guidance.

Primary Purpose

Assist teacher in preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements.

Work under the supervision of a certified teacher.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: High school diploma
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate or willingness to obtain certificate (at applicant's expense) within 30 days of employment
• Any applicant for paraprofessional jobs who is recommended for hire in Magnolia ISD and has not obtained a minimum of 48 college hours will have to pass a paraprofessional assessment exam which consists of reading, writing and mathematics.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Instructional Support

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.

• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.

Student Management

• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
• Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
• Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.

Other

• Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
• Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
• Other duties assigned.
