Job summary

Paris Regional Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Aide to join our compassionate team in Paris, TX. You will assist with direct patient care, support activities of daily living, and contribute to safe patient transport and discharge processes.

Requires PCA training or Nurse Aide program completion; High school diploma preferred. Work schedule is 3x12 night shifts. We value safety, teamwork, and ongoing staff development within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • PCA experience preferred and relevant training or certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care in nursing areas under licensed personnel.
  • Support activities of daily living (ADLs) and document accordingly.
  • Assist with feeding and meals as assigned and document.
  • Assist with elimination needs and document.
  • Respond to alarms and patient needs promptly.
  • Collect and document patient information (weights, vital signs) and report changes to staff.
  • Provide restorative care per care plan and document.
  • Maintain room and common areas, stock supplies, and change linens.
  • Follow infection control policies and OSHA standards.
  • Ensure safe transport and discharge processes; assist with orientation and training of others.

How you'll contribute

A Nurse Aide who excels in this role:

  • Assists with patient care throughout nursing areas under the direction of licensed personnel.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and documents accordingly.
  • Assists patient with feeding and/or meals as assigned and documents accordingly.
  • Assists patient with elimination needs as is appropriate and documents accordingly.
  • Answers alarm pendants and respond to residents'/patients' needs appropriately and promptly.
  • Collects and documents patient information as needed (including weights and vital signs). Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Provides restorative care per care plan. Documents accordingly.
  • Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly. Changes linens of occupied / unoccupied beds.
  • Demonstrates proper infection control practice and adheres to Infection Control Policies and Procedures and OSHA standards.
  • Operates all equipment and performs all procedures/care in a safe manner. Reports faulty and/or dangerous equipment as necessary
  • Assists in discharge process of patients to include transport, packing of personal belongings, and assistance with hygiene needs as requested.
  • Provides for safe transport of patients through the institution. Appropriate measures are being taken to escort patients into and out of the facility.
  • Assists with postmortem care including transport to the morgue.
  • Assists with orientation and training of others as directed.

Other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. PCA experience preferred.

Education: Preferred: High school diploma; PCA training program with Certificate or Nurse Aide educational program; Nursing Aides who have completed the required education but have not obtained state licensure will be in PCA role.

Licenses: PCA certificate from PCA training program, or completion of Nurse Aide educational program

Schedule: 3x12, Nights (7p-7a)
