Job summary

WesleyLife in Iowa offers an Aide in Training role designed as a pathway into Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training. This position provides hands-on experience while preparing for CNA training once the program is available, with paid training opportunities and support from a collaborative care team.

You will assist residents with light personal care, housekeeping, and activities, while learning infection control, safety procedures, and how to work closely with nursing staff to promote

Qualifications

• Ability to interact respectfully with residents and support independence.
• Strong communication with residents, families, and staff.
• Willingness to attend CNA training and meetings.
• Commitment to obtaining CNA license within 90 days, with training paid by WesleyLife.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain resident privacy.

Responsibilities

• Engage with residents through light personal care, casual conversations, games, and social activities.
• Assist with housekeeping, laundry, and light grooming tasks.
• Collaborate with nursing and care staff to ensure residents feel respected and cared for.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and families.
• Follow safety protocols with training on PPE, infection control, and emergency procedures.
