Job summary

Katy ISD HASKETT JUNIOR HIGH in Katy, Texas is seeking an Aide for In-School Suspension (ISS) under the Alternative Education Placement program. This 187-day, non-exempt position pays at Pay Grade IS03 and starts immediately.

Reports to the Principal – Administrator and requires a Texas educational aide certificate. Duties include supervising ISS students, maintaining attendance records, assisting with assignments, and supporting discipline and character education as prescribed by campus

Qualifications

• Title I campus requires 48 college hours or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test.
• Non-Title I campus requires college hours, a high school diploma or GED.
• Proficient keyboarding, word processing, and file maintenance skills.
• Ability to maintain strict discipline.
• Ability to work independently.
• Experience in working with students.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate.

Responsibilities

• Keep attendance and records of students entering and leaving the campus ISS.
• Supervise students’ work which includes administering tests and tutoring, as needed.
• Oversee character education activities as prescribed by campus administration.
• Maintain strict discipline in order to provide students with a strictly controlled atmosphere for learning.
• Assist in obtaining assignments from teachers and delivering student work to teachers.
• Attend all faculty and in-service meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student membership in ISS.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
