Overview
The Aide, Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Unique Needs position is grant-funded and based on the needs of individual students and/or classrooms. In the event of a unit loss midyear or reassignment of the unit, the employee will receive proper notice to allow for a transfer into another position. The role assists school staff in the care and management of students with disabilities under the direction and supervision of an immediate supervisor or supervising teacher, who evaluates performance through observation, critique, and records and reports.

Responsibilities
- Adheres to the daily schedule and assignments.
- Assist students with personal hygiene needs (e.g., toileting, diapering, dressing), as directed by the teacher.
- Assist with implementing classroom and/or individual behavior management systems.
- Provide for the care, well-being, and supervision of students with disabilities under the direction of the teacher.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: One (1) year of increasingly responsible experience in education, child care, or related field preferred.
- Language Skills: Reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Writes simple correspondence. Effectively presents information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Mathematical Skills: Performs basic arithmetic using two-digit numbers, money, weight, volume, and distance.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions and solve problems in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, sitting, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, handling, keyboarding, talking, and hearing.
- Lifting up to 55 pounds.
- Reaching with both hands; overhead movements may be required.
- Environmental Conditions: Noise level could be loud.
