Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily operation of the school cafeteria and lunch program.
  • Help create a welcoming, positive, and respectful environment for students during lunch.
  • Assist students as needed with meal service and cafeteria procedures.
  • Monitor and supervise students during lunch to help ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Encourage students to demonstrate appropriate table manners, respect, kindness, and responsible behavior.
  • Maintain a calm and orderly cafeteria environment.
  • Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with setting up and cleaning tables, serving areas, and other cafeteria spaces.
  • Clean and sanitize tables, surfaces, and eating areas as needed.
  • Assist with proper disposal of trash and maintaining a clean and organized cafeteria.
  • Follow food-service, sanitation, and allergy-awareness procedures as directed.
  • Be attentive to student dietary needs and follow established procedures for communicating or responding to food allergies and special meal requirements.
  • Assist cafeteria staff with meal distribution, supplies, and other daily tasks as assigned.
  • Communicate student concerns, behavioral issues, accidents, or other relevant information to the appropriate school staff.
  • Work cooperatively with teachers, administrators, cafeteria personnel, and other school employees.
  • Help supervise students during transitions to and from the cafeteria as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student and school information.
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating patience, kindness, respect, and professionalism.
  • Support the Catholic identity and mission of Incarnate Word by modeling Christian values and treating every student with dignity and compassion.
  • Participate respectfully in prayer or other faith-based activities when appropriate.

Job Summary

Incarnate Word is seeking a caring, dependable, and faith-filled individual to serve as a Cafeteria Aide in our School Lunch Program. The Cafeteria Aide helps provide students with a safe, welcoming, orderly, and positive lunch experience while supporting the Catholic mission and values of the school.

The Cafeteria Aide works collaboratively with school staff to assist with meal service, student supervision, cafeteria cleanliness, and daily lunch routines. The ideal candidate demonstrates patience, kindness, responsibility, and a genuine desire to serve and support our students.

Job Responsibilities

Assist with the daily operation of the school cafeteria and lunch program.

Help create a welcoming, positive, and respectful environment for students during lunch.

Assist students as needed with meal service and cafeteria procedures.
