Job summary

Seven Hills Foundation, Stetson School, seeks a committed Aide Behavioral Counselor II to support students in a structured, therapeutic educational setting. You will work with educators and clinical staff to help students build positive behaviors, develop life skills, and succeed in and out of the classroom.

This hands-on role suits someone passionate about working with youth in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting youth in educational/therapeutic settings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing behavioral interventions in classroom and residential settings.
• Respond to student behavior per established policies (CPI included).
• Use de-escalation techniques; apply approved physical interventions when needed.
• Reinforce positive behaviors and model supportive behavior.
• Assist teachers with instructional tasks and tutoring.
• Help develop classroom materials and supports under guidance.
• Maintain a safe, structured learning environment.
• Supervise students visually and aurally; support daily routines and transitions.
• Plan and facilitate recreational and skill-building activities.
• Support health, safety, and compliance protocols; maintain documentation.

Job description

Pay: $21.00-$22.92/hour

Sign-on Bonus: $4,000 (50% paid at 6 months and 50% paid at 12 months)

Schedule: 7:15am-3:15 pm Monday-Friday

What You'll Do

Student Support & Behavioral Intervention

• Assist with implementing behavioral interventions in the classroom and residential setting
• Respond to student behavior in accordance with established behavior management policies, including CPI strategies
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and, when necessary, apply approved physical interventions
• Reinforce positive behaviors and serve as a consistent, supportive role model

Classroom & Educational Assistance

• Support teachers by providing instructional assistance and tutoring to students
• Help develop instructional materials and classroom supports under teacher guidance
• Assist in maintaining a structured, safe, and engaging learning environment

Supervision & Daily Routines

• Maintain constant visual and auditory supervision of students
• Support daily routines, including morning preparation, transitions, and scheduled activities
• Conduct regular room checks and ensure student safety at all times
• Assist with transporting and supervising students during on- and off-campus activities (as approved)

Recreation & Skill Building

• Assist in planning and facilitating recreational and skill-building activities
• Engage with students in age-appropriate activities while modeling positive behavior
• Encourage social development, teamwork, and appropriate peer interactions

Health, Safety & Environment

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
• Support students in personal hygiene, housekeeping, and daily living tasks
• Follow Universal Precautions and safety protocols when addressing health-related needs
• Conduct room and unit searches as assigned

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including CPI-related reporting
• Maintain knowledge of all policies, procedures, and program updates
• Participate in required trainings and maintain certifications such as CPR and First Aid

Team Support & Coverage

• Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent care and supervision
• Provide coverage as needed and maintain reliable attendance
• Step into Aide Behavioral Counselor I responsibilities when required
