The Aide will participate in regular communication with staff concerning children, as well as on going communication with parents/guardians. The Aide will support classroom and playground supervision to ensure the safety of every child. A high school diploma or equivalent is required for all applicants.Education and Experience RequirementsHigh School DiplomaOne (1) year experience working with children ages 3-5.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDesire to increase knowledge of normal child growth/development, parent-child relationships, and children with special needs.Ability to demonstrate sound and mature judgment.Ability and knowledge to work with 3–5-year-old children and meet Head Start Standards of Conduct and Confidentiality.Ability to write logically, clearly, concisely, and effectively with good grammar.Skills in working with a diverse group of parents/guardians.Ability to work independently, while remaining self-motivated, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a team.Ability to successfully complete all required pre-employment and ongoing clearances, including a current physical examination, negative tuberculosis (TB) test, Hepatitis B vaccination series (I, II, and III), CPR and First Aid certifications, criminal background fingerprint clearance, Megan's Law clearance, and TrustLine clearance, as applicable.2.
