Job summary

Aquatech International LLC in Canonsburg, PA seeks a full-time Mechanical Engineer to support pressure vessel design and piping projects. RESPONSIBILITIES include ASME VIII-1 compliance, FEA for vessels, and leading CAD drafting for vessel drawings and BOMs.

Ideal candidates have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, 0–2 years of experience, and familiarity with ASME/ANSI/AWWA codes, CAD tools, and MS Excel for data analysis.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of piping codes ASME B31.1 / 31.3.
• Exposure to water treatment & wastewater processes is a plus.
• Knowledge of Plant engineering - Layout considerations and piping layouts.
• Knowledge (or awareness) of ASME, ANSI, and AWWA codes for pressure vessels, tanks & structural design codes.
• Knowledge of hydraulic flow, pressure loss concepts in pipelines, and open channel flows.
• Exposure to CAD software (AutoCAD 2D/ Plant 3D preferred).
• Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel-based spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Pressure Vessel Mechanical Engineering to meet all the requirements of ASME Section VIII, Division 1 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
• Pressure Vessel Mechanical Engineering to meet all the requirements of international codes as required for each project.
• Direct AutoCAD vessel drafter to create vessel drawings including dimensional, fabrication, plate maps, tolerance, transportation, etc.
• Review and approve all vessel drawings, calculations and datasheets.
• Create vessel bills of material datasheets and specifications for material purchases.
• Review proposal specifications to determine exceptions and clarifications for project bids based on the Aquatech vessel standard.
• Develop vessel standards and drawings for standard Aquatech products.
• Participate in quality improvements through IDEA Cycle and Lessons Learned initiatives.
• Review welding procedures (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR) for carbon steel and stainless steel alloys.
• Engineer piping and ducting to meet all of the requirements of ASME B31.1 or ASME B31.3.
