Job summary

Sidley Austin LLP seeks an Associate Director to lead AI tool evaluation, vendor management, and governance across the firm. You will partner with IT, Risk, GC, and Procurement to assess products, manage vendor relationships, and steer deployment and effective adoption of AI solutions across practice groups.

The role requires 8+ years in product management or technology evaluation, excellent communication, and a proven ability to mentor teams in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in product management, technology evaluation, or vendor management.
• Experience evaluating, piloting, or procuring AI/enterprise software tools with actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead evaluation and selection of AI tools with frameworks and scoring.
• Oversee AI vendor relationships, performance, roadmaps, and contracts.
• Lead rollout and governance of general-purpose AI platforms with IT.
• Recommend AI products based on requirements, market trends, and risk.
• Coordinate vendor procurement, security, data protection, and deployment needs.
• Monitor legal AI market developments and provide insights to leadership.
• Develop processes for tool evaluation, governance, and performance review.
• Collaborate with practice groups to translate business needs into tech criteria.
• Mentor and develop team members; manage escalations and adoption.
• Provide leadership on complex vendor/platform issues and resource coordination.
