Job summary

Sidley Austin LLP is seeking a Product Management Director - Data & AI to lead a strategic portfolio and partner with attorneys to uncover high-impact AI use cases. The role requires 10+ years in product management, 5+ years leading teams, and deep PM discipline knowledge.

You will drive discovery, backlog management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver secure, scalable AI-enabled solutions. The role reports to the Product Management Senior Director and emphasizes executive presence,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, CS or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years in product management.
• Minimum 5 years leading teams.
• Proven track record delivering data/AI-enabled solutions from discovery to execution.
• Excellent executive presence and communication skills.
• Experience collaborating with Engineering, Design, and Data Governance teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for a Data & AI product portfolio.
• Translate complex requirements into high-impact product initiatives.
• Champion a product-first mindset and scalable product thinking.
• Partner with attorneys and business teams to understand workflows and opportunities.
• Lead rigorous product discovery and validation with user research and experimentation.
• Manage and refine the product backlog reflecting strategic value and feasibility.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team.
• Evaluate AI tools and platforms; lead lifecycle management of proprietary AI solutions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Data Governance to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
• Serve as trusted advisor to attorneys and firm leadership; influence decisions with transparency.
• Drive cross-functional alignment across product teams.
• Promote product management best practices across the firm.
