The AI Tutor role is a remote, full-time, temporary position expected to last approximately 6 months (with potential for extension based on project goals and business needs).

AI Tutor’s Role in Advancing xAI’s Mission:

As an AI Tutor, you will support the training and refinement of xAI’s AI models by teaching the models about human interactions, reactions, and problem-solving approaches. This involves gathering, providing data such as text, voice, and video, annotating data, recording audio, or participating in video sessions. Candidates should be comfortable engaging in these activities to ensure alignment with xAI’s goals for innovation.

Scope:

The role includes labeling and annotating data in various formats to support AI training, including recording sessions. All work is owned by xAI, and data collection is a core requirement.

Responsibilities:

1. Use proprietary software to label data for projects.
2. Ensure high-quality data curation.
3. Contribute to training new AI tasks with technical staff.
4. Help improve annotation tools through interaction with technical teams.
5. Engage in writing assignments to refine AI models.

Key Qualifications:

1. Proficiency in reading and writing in English (informal and professional).
2. Strong research skills and ability to navigate information resources.
3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
4. Solid reading comprehension and autonomous judgment skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Proficiency in additional languages such as Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, German, Russian, Italian, French, Arabic, Indonesian, Turkish, Hindi, Persian, Spanish, or Portuguese.
2. Experience in technical writing, journalism, or professional writing roles.

Location, Hours, and Requirements:

1. This is a fully remote position.
2. Visa sponsorship is not available.
3. In the US, hiring is unavailable in Wyoming and Illinois.
4. Work hours are 9:00 am - 5:30 pm PST initially, then in your local timezone.
5. You need a device capable of running Windows 10 or macOS Big Sur 11.0+, and a reliable smartphone.

Compensation and Benefits:

1. Pay ranges from $35 to $65 per hour, with benefits including medical insurance depending on location.
2. Pay is determined based on skills, education, and experience.
