Job summary

Simbe is hiring a Data Engine & Annotation Systems Engineer to own the systems, workflows, and tooling that power high-quality training data for our computer vision models.

You will build the data engine behind Simbe's AI platform: model assisted labeling, data quality checks, annotation guidelines, error mining, dataset versioning, active learning, and evaluation workflows that improve model performance and accelerate customer value.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software engineering, data tooling, or ML data ops.
• Strong Python skills with scripting, data workflows, APIs.
• Experience with web front-end/internal tools.
• Detail oriented with a focus on data quality and model impact.
• Ability to coordinate across engineering, product, and customer success.

Responsibilities

• Own annotation systems and workflows, including quality control.
• Build data engine tooling to request annotations, review results, and export datasets.
• Improve data quality by checks for label consistency and class balance.
• Integrate model-assisted workflows for auto labeling and active learning.
• Support dataset versioning, evaluation, and release readiness with CV engineers.
• Coordinate across annotation teams, CV, product, and data teams.
• Measure annotation quality, turnaround time, and model impact.
