Mercury is seeking a Tech Communications Lead to shape how AI and innovation in finance are told to founders, builders, and the broader tech world. You’ll translate complex product work into clear stories and own the technology narrative across podcasts, events, content, and press.

You will report to the Head of Comms, partner with the co-founder and senior leaders, and build thought leadership platforms while scaling an integrated comms program in a fast-moving fintech startup.

Qualifikationen

• 7-10 years of communications experience with time on tech/product/AI storytelling at a high-growth startup or tech company.
• Hands-on, fluent user of AI tools in work, researching, automating workflows, and content creation.
• Track record of building executive and founder thought leadership programs across podcasts, speaking, and social.
• Ability to translate AI/product concepts into clear, human, and exciting messaging without losing accuracy.
• Exceptional writing and editing with strong narrative voice.
• Strong relationships with tech/AI media, podcasters, and creators.
• Comfortable working directly with founders and senior leaders, earning trust.
• Builder mindset: scrappy, resourceful, and startup-obsessed.
• Curious about AI, startups, and the founder journey.
• Bonus: fintech experience or communicating with founder/SMB audiences.

Aufgaben

• Develop and own the tech, AI, and innovation narrative for founders and the broader tech community.
• Partner with the co-founder and senior leaders to build thought leadership platforms (messaging, talking points, bylines, social presence).
• Build and run an integrated comms program across podcasts, events, owned content, social, and press to grow the company’s AI/innovation reputation.
• Identify and secure high-impact podcast, conference, and media opportunities.
• Lead comms for product and AI launches with product marketing, ensuring a cohesive innovation story.
• Cultivate relationships with tech, AI, and startup journalists and creators.
• Create and edit content such as blog posts, executive social posts, talks, and briefing docs; coach spokespeople.
• Monitor AI and fintech landscape, spot trends and moments to lead the conversation.
• Measure outcomes and refine strategy over time; use AI tools to scale output.
