Overview

We are seeking an experienced AI Systems Performance Architect to develop and optimize performance models of hardware components and systems, focusing on AI accelerators. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the functionality and performance of our AI accelerators, contributing to the advancement of AI hardware systems and products.

Responsibilities
  • Build performance models of hardware components and systems at various levels of abstraction and validate their functionality and performance against actual implementations
  • Create logging, tracing, and debugging facilities within the models to enable performance and functional debugging
  • Utilize developed models to predict and project the performance of future-generation hardware systems, specifically AI accelerators
  • Create synthetic and random test cases and stimuli to stress-test and exercise various functionalities and features of the modeled architectures
  • Construct appropriate test and regression infrastructure for continuous testing and evaluation of developed models and systems
  • Create clear and meticulous documentation of the models and infrastructures, as well as user guides that describe the best practices and usage models
  • Serve as the main driver and point of contact for all technical aspects regarding performance modeling and collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • MSc computer science or electrical engineering or related field, with 8+ years of experience
  • 6+ years of experience with modern programming and modeling languages, such as Python, C++, the Standard Template Library, SystemC, and TLM2.0
  • Prior experience with modeling complex hardware components (IPs) and systems (SoCs)
  • Experience in debugging, instrumenting, profiling, and optimizing large-scale software projects and codebases
  • Familiarity with version control software, continuous integration/continuous development, and regression systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of AI workloads and accelerator systems is a bonus

Work Model

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. However, you must live and work from the country specified in the job posting, in which Intel has a legal presence.
