Job summary

Aaru is building AI systems in New York City focused on scalable platform and infrastructure for large-scale simulations and agent workflows.

You will design and implement high-performance backend systems and data pipelines, driving end-to-end ownership with a small, elite team. This onsite role requires collaboration with product, research, and leadership to push cutting-edge AI capabilities forward.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in full-stack, backend, or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience at a high-bar startup, top team, or quant environment.
• End-to-end product or system ownership.
• Strong full-stack or backend skills (T-shaped).
• Top school degree (CS, Math, Physics, or similar).
• Experience with LLMs or agent-based systems.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Highly collaborative and able to work with product/design/founders.
• Willing to work 6 days/week onsite in NYC.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance backend and infrastructure systems.
• Develop LLM-powered simulation and agent systems.
• Build scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and latency.
• Work end-to-end across product, research, and engineering.
• Collaborate closely with founders and cross-functional teams.
