The role partners with clinical, IS, and research stakeholders to drive measurable efficiency gains, ROI, and scalable adoption across MUSC.

The position emphasizes governance, production readiness, and continuous workforce development, with quarterly and annual executive reporting on outcomes and impact.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; PhD preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience with leadership exposure in data science, AI, analytics, operational improvement, or technical program management.
• Experience collaborating with data scientists, ML engineers, or technical teams; familiarity with applied AI/ML preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise teams and manage cross-functional projects.
• Proven experience partnering with operational or clinical leaders to identify efficiency improvements or workflow enhancements.

Responsibilities

• AI Opportunity Discovery & Operational Strategy – lead discovery workshops and prioritize initiatives.
• Team Leadership & Workforce Development – mentor Jr. Data Scientists and ML Engineers.
• Solution Development & Deployment Support – oversee scaling of AI prototypes to enterprise environments.
• ROI Measurement & Executive Reporting – quantify ROI and report to leadership quarterly/annually.
• Partner Engagement & Thought Leadership – advise on feasibility, adoption readiness, and build vs. buy decisions.
