Job summary

Trinity Industries in Dallas, TX seeks an AI & Analytics Business Partner to bridge data capabilities with business units. This embedded role translates insights into actionable strategies and leverages AI to elevate data quality and decision making.

As a collaborator to leaders across functions, you will develop dashboards, guide analytics roadmaps, and champion data governance, AI literacy, and responsible use of AI in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Master's degree (MBA, MS Analytics, or equivalent) preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in a data analytics, business intelligence, or data strategy role, with at least 2 years in a business-facing or partnership capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into analytical requirements and deliver insights that drive measurable outcomes.
• High interest in and working knowledge of AI technologies, including generative AI, large language models, and machine learning applications in a business context.
• Hands-on experience using AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) to accelerate analysis, automate workflows, or enhance business communications.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and experience building executive-level dashboards and reports.
• Working knowledge of SQL; familiarity with Python or R is a plus.
• Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and master data concepts.
• Experience operating in a matrixed environment requiring cross-functional collaboration and influence without direct authority.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated curiosity and a continuous learning mindset, particularly around emerging data and AI technologies.
• Results-oriented with strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Manufacturing, industrial, or rail industry experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary data and analytics liaison for assigned business units.
• Translate business questions into analytical problems with data teams.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and self-service tools.
• Identify opportunities where data and AI can improve efficiency, revenue, or risk.
• Lead requirements gathering with business leaders.
• Champion data and AI literacy across the organization.
• Explore and pilot AI tools to enhance insights.
• Act as trusted advisor to functional leaders for planning and performance.
• Collaborate to prioritize analytics roadmap.
• Facilitate regular business reviews using data insights.
• Ensure analytics solutions are fit-for-purpose.
• Promote responsible and ethical use of AI.
