Job summary

Perplexity is building the AI platform for professional finance. As an AI Strategist on the Applied AI team, you will own strategic engagements end to end with investment professionals, translating workflows into agentic capabilities and connectors.

You will work with buyside teams to design, demonstrate, and deploy frontier capabilities that automate screening, diligence, earnings analysis, and research synthesis across front-office processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, equity research, or institutional asset management.
• 6+ years total experience spanning finance and technical GTM, sales engineering, or AI product strategy with customer exposure.
• Deep fluency in front-office workflows: screening, comps, diligence, earnings, research synthesis, portfolio construction and monitoring.
• Strong intuition for AI products, agents, and workflows; can understand complex systems.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into engineering-ready specs with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery with banks, PE firms, hedge funds, and asset managers to identify workflows to automate.
• Define scope, success metrics, pilot design, and commercial structure.
• Drive deployment and rollout across front-office teams with revenue responsibility alongside Sales.
• Own senior relationships; move engagements through qualification, scoping, proposal, pricing, and close.
