Job summary

Parish Companies is creating a brand-new role for an early-career accountant who loves AI and wants to use it daily to save time and sharpen financial analysis. This is not a routine “run the reports” job; you will shape how our finance team operates and scale AI-driven workflows.

You’ll work hands-on with AP/AR, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close support, building automation and insights that drive faster decisions across our family of companies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Some exposure to AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini) and enthusiasm to build deeper fluency across platforms.
• Comfortable picking up new tools quickly and willing to experiment.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP familiarity a plus).
• Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills.
• A self-starter mindset — comfortable proposing new ideas without being told to.
• Good communication skills; able to explain a new process simply to non-technical teammates.

Responsibilities

• Handle core accounting tasks (AP/AR, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close support) across our family of companies.
• Identify repetitive or time-consuming processes and use AI tools to automate or streamline them.
• Build AI-assisted workflows for financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
• Try out new AI platforms and tools as they emerge, and share what you learn with the team.
• Create simple documentation/templates so time-saving methods can be reused across teams.
• Partner with leadership to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights — faster than traditional methods allow.
• Stay current on AI developments relevant to accounting and finance.
