JOB TITLE: AI Solutions Lead

DEPARTMENT: Technology & Systems

LOCATION: Poseyville, Indiana

REPORTS TO: Adam Schmitt, Vice President of Administration

Nix Companies, Inc. (NCI) is seeking a highly motivated, technically skilled AI Solutions Lead to drive the development, implementation, and adoption of artificial intelligence solutions across our family of companies. This is a hands‑on technical leadership position focused on delivering measurable business results through AI, intelligent automation, and systems integration. The ideal candidate is a builder and problem‑solver who can independently take an opportunity from concept through implementation. This individual will work directly with business leaders to understand operational challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop practical AI‑powered solutions that increase productivity, reduce costs, improve accuracy, and support organizational growth. Unlike a traditional management position, this role does not initially include direct reports. Success will be determined by the individual's ability to independently execute projects, deliver measurable financial returns, and establish scalable AI capabilities across the organization.

How You Will Do It

AI Development & Implementation

• Independently design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI-powered solutions that address real challenges.
• Build AI agents capable of performing multi-step workflows, accessing business information, interacting with software systems, and executing defined tasks.
• Develop intelligent automations that reduce manual data entry, repetitive tasks, and inefficient processes.
• Build integrations connecting AI solutions with existing business applications, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and determine their practical application within NCI.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, optimize, and continuously improve deployed solutions.

Process Improvement & Automation

• Partner with leaders across NCI's operating companies to identify high-value opportunities for AI and automation.
• Analyze existing workflows, document inefficiencies, and design improved processes.
• Prioritize initiatives based on potential financial impact, feasibility, implementation effort, and business value.
• Translate business requirements into functional, reliable technical solutions.

Systems Integration & Data Utilization

• Develop AI capabilities that integrate with NCI's existing technology environment, including ERP, CRM, accounting, manufacturing, and business intelligence platforms.
• Utilize APIs, webhooks, and automation tools to connect systems and streamline the flow of information.
• Build solutions that extract, organize, interpret, and utilize business data to improve decision-making.
• Collaborate with IT & Data personnel to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity requirements, and data management standards.
• Establish appropriate monitoring, error handling, documentation, and access controls for deployed solutions.

Administrative

• Provide training, documentation, and ongoing support for AI tools and workflows.
• Promote responsible AI usage, including data security, confidentiality, reliability, and appropriate human oversight.
• Establish measurable objectives and expected returns for AI initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to scale successful solutions across multiple NCI operating companies.

This Position Requires:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field; equivalent demonstrated experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated experience independently developing and deploying AI-powered applications, agents, or workflow automations in a business environment.
• Experience with Google Workspace administration
• Ability to understand business processes and translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
• Effective communication and collaboration across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
