Job summary

Mission.dev is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to design and deliver production-grade AI applications for enterprise clients in LATAM, reporting to regional leadership. You will own end-to-end AI projects, from architecting intelligent agent systems to implementing RAG pipelines and ensuring scalable, reliable deployments.

The role emphasizes deep technical engagement with customers, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring on building client applications using Python and modern AI

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend systems development and recent AI/ML experience.
• Hands-on expertise with LLM platforms and agentic frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or CrewAI.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and experience building scalable backend services or APIs.
• Practical experience with vector databases like Pinecone, Weaviate, or FAISS.

About the Role

This customer-facing AI Engineer role involves designing and delivering production-grade AI applications for enterprise clients across the LATAM region. You will serve as a technical expert, bridging the gap between business requirements and scalable machine learning solutions. Reporting to regional leadership, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI projects, from architecting intelligent agent systems to implementing advanced retrieval-augmented generation pipelines. Your impact will be measured by deploying custom AI agents that solve complex operational problems and strengthen long-term client relationships.

Yearly Salary

175-200k and negotiable

What You’ll Do

• Translate complex business requirements into robust, production-ready AI solutions through direct customer engagement.
• Architect and integrate intelligent multi-step agent systems using advanced frameworks to automate specific enterprise functions.
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines to contextualize model behaviour with client-specific knowledge bases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and customer data science units to ensure seamless platform integration.
• Oversee the entire AI project lifecycle, encompassing data preprocessing, model development, deployment, and performance monitoring.
• Serve as a technical champion by providing product feedback and mentoring clients on building their own applications.
• Maintain high engineering standards by writing clean, scalable Python code and implementing best practices for system performance.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in backend systems development and recent AI/ML experience.
• Hands-on expertise with LLM platforms and agentic frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or CrewAI.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and experience building scalable backend services or APIs.
• Practical experience with vector databases like Pinecone, Weaviate, or FAISS.
• Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI concepts.
• Proven ability to manage multiple enterprise projects and present technical solutions to stakeholders.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
