Job summary

Blue Origin is hiring a software engineer on the Operations team in Renton, WA. You will build full‑stack features for Manufacturing Engineers, including AI/LLM powered tools, data pipelines, and frontend interfaces to streamline work orders and processes.

You will learn the complete lifecycle, write tests and docs, and participate in code reviews while collaborating with non‑technical users to deliver practical solutions on the floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, software engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational software engineering ability with CS fundamentals and SDLC knowledge.
• Experience with frontend development (JS/TS, React) and backend (Python).
• Familiarity with SQL and APIs (REST/GraphQL).
• Interest in building with LLMs and AI-powered features.
• Strong communication and collaboration; able to learn from non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain full-stack features across frontend, backend, and data pipelines.
• Improve existing applications used by Manufacturing Engineers; include cleanup and hardening.
• Develop AI/LLM-powered features for manufacturing data and work orders.
• Follow the full software development lifecycle with tests and documentation.
• Participate in code reviews and support on-call rotation as you ramp.
• Spend time with Manufacturing Engineers to learn workflows and tailor tools.
• Adopt new technologies and the team's core stack quickly.
