Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a consultant to apply analytics and AI to transform utility operations. You will partner with clients to identify high-impact AI opportunities, shape AI strategies, and collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business experts to design scalable solutions.

The role focuses on grid modernization, asset management, outage prediction, renewable integration, and customer engagement, with leadership in project teams and the ability to drive client value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
• 7+ years of analytics, AI/ML, or utility operations experience with focus on solution development and strategy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research into analytics applications for electric utilities and critical infrastructure.
• Translate business needs into AI/analytics opportunities and define solution roadmaps.
• Lead workshops and presentations to communicate solution concepts and inspire stakeholder engagement.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to project teams and junior staff.
• Ensure QA/QC and alignment with safety and company policies.
