Job summary

Wight & Company in Darien, IL is seeking an AI Solutions Specialist to help teams apply AI to designing and constructing buildings. You will work with architects, engineers, estimators, and business teams to build tools and enable confident AI usage.

Initial focus includes Copilot adoption, agent building, and regular use of AI across sessions. The role requires hands-on AI, Python, and data skills with in-person collaboration.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with generative AI and evidence of building an agent, automation, or other useful tool.
• Practical Python skills: read, modify, test, and explain code with AI support.
• Ability to translate user needs into AI-enabled tools and workflows.
• Basic data literacy and understanding of how records relate across systems.

Responsibilities

• Learn how teams work and translate priorities into AI-powered tools with clear success criteria.
• Build and improve agents with Copilot Studio, Power Automate, and related tools; establish testing practices.
• Lead demonstrations, training, and coaching to help colleagues adopt AI solutions.
• Define outputs with users, test accuracy against trusted data, and determine when professional review is needed.
• Identify data sources, ownership, definitions, and cross-system relationships.
• Connect data via Python and SaaS APIs; collaborate with IT on integrations.
• Help teams extract and standardize information from unstructured documents.
• Apply confidentiality, data security, and responsible AI guidelines; involve specialists as needed.
• Own and maintain launched agents and tools; provide ongoing support and improve solutions.
• Work with architects, engineers, BIM teams to develop data workflows feeding AI into processes like programming, estimating, risk, and scheduling.
