Job summary

BeNeering GmbH seeks a senior AI/ML software engineer to design and deliver production-grade AI features for procurement used by global customers. You will architect AI solutions, build Python services, and run customer projects end-to-end.

You will work with SAP integrations (S/4HANA, SAP BTP) and cloud platforms, mentor colleagues, and help shape our platform with a hands-on approach to modern AI tooling and governance, in a hybrid office/home setup in the US or with remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with Python
• Proven experience shipping AI/ML solutions to production (LLM apps, RAG, agents, ML models)
• Hands-on with LLM APIs, vector databases, prompt engineering
• Solid knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, CI/CD, REST APIs
• Experience running customer projects independently from requirements to delivery
• Excellent English communication; adept at workshops for business/users
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, or ERP integration
• Knowledge of procurement or supply chain processes
• Experience with Kubernetes, MLOps, and model evaluation

Responsibilities

Who We Are

BeNeering was founded in 2007 by experienced SAP solution architects who had spent years working inside global corporations. We know from first-hand experience where procurement gets slowed down and how to fix it. As a German software company and certified SAP partner, we started out in consulting and became a solutions provider in 2013. Our core development team from that time is still with us today.

Our main product is the company Digital Procurement Platform. It uses AI-powered guidance and automation to make indirect procurement easy. The platform connects to SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA in real time, so SAP remains the system of record while employees shop in a modern, intuitive interface that feels like a web shop. Many of our customers use it as the modern replacement for SAP SRM.

The company is privately owned and has no outside investors. We don't chase short-term targets. We build long-term partnerships and develop our product together with our customers.

About the Job

Do you design AI solutions that hold up in production, write solid Python, and enjoy being the person customers trust to deliver? At the company you will architect and build AI features for procurement used by global companies, and run customer projects end to end.

Responsibilities

Design the architecture of AI solutions for our procurement platform, including LLM-based assistants, AI agents, retrieval (RAG) and machine learning models.

• Develop production-grade Python services and APIs, from prototype to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement
• Run customer projects independently: scope requirements, plan and estimate, deliver, and report progress to customer stakeholders
• Lead workshops and explain technical concepts clearly to both business users and IT teams
• Integrate AI services with SAP systems (S/4HANA, SAP BTP) and with our cloud platform, working closely with our SAP developers and consultants
• Ensure AI solutions are secure, reliable and compliant with data protection rules, including GDPR and the EU AI Act
• Evaluate new AI technologies and models, set technical standards, and mentor colleagues across Germany and Poland

Who You Are

University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or a related field

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong Python skills (for example FastAPI, pandas, testing, packaging)
• Proven experience designing and shipping AI/ML solutions to production, such as LLM applications, RAG, agents or classic ML models
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and frameworks, vector databases and prompt engineering
• Solid knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), Docker, CI/CD and REST APIs
• Track record of running customer projects on your own, from requirements to delivery
• Excellent communication skills in English: able to present, run workshops and explain complex topics simply
• Experience with SAP (S/4HANA, SAP BTP or SAP AI Core) or ERP integration
• Knowledge of procurement or supply chain processes
• Experience with Kubernetes, MLOps and model evaluation
• Experience with transformers and finetuning of language models is a plus
• Fluent in German is a plus
