CSBio in Menlo Park, CA is seeking an AI Software Engineering Intern to build and expand an internal AI tool used for inventory management, purchasing optimization, and manufacturing decision support. The role is onsite for 3 months, ideal for a recent BS graduate who can work independently and ship features with minimal guidance.

You will prototype in Python, Streamlit, and OpenAI APIs, integrate with MISys API, and help turn data workflows into practical tools powering operations.

Description

CSBio is a peptide contract manufacturing founded in 1993. Our initial products were a complete line of automated synthesizers for manufacturing and process development, with a focus on cGMP production. In 1994, we opened our custom peptide facility and began producing high quality compounds for research organizations and pharmaceutical companies worldwide. In 2004, we opened our peptide production facility in Menlo Park, CA and in 2014, we expanded our production capability through the addition of a new, state of the art building dedicated to cGMP peptide production. In 2017, we passed an FDA inspection and were recommended to be approved for commercial drug substance manufacturing. In 2023, we added additional cGMP clinical production capacity in Milpitas, CA.

Position Summary

Are you a software engineering self-starter that can figure things out and is interested in building out and implementing AI relevant tools into an operational workflow?

CSBio is a leading biotech company in the peptide industry, and for over 30 years has been providing pharmaceutical instrumentation to biotech, pharmaceutical, and academic researchers.

We are looking for a highly motivated AI Software Engineering Intern to help build and expand our internal AI tool used for inventory management, purchasing optimization, and manufacturing decision support. This role is ideal for a recent BS graduate who is resourceful, independent, and excited to build full-stack AI features with minimal guidance.

Only local candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and can commit to a full time on-site role for 3 months will be considered. This is a fully onsite role, 5 days in office at our Menlo Park or Milpitas location.

Job Responsibilities

• Work with leadership and internal stakeholders to refine requirements and translate ambiguous goals into working code. Refining requirements and understanding exactly how the data structure is used out of our manufacturing system and API will be critical.
• Build new features for our internal AI platform using Python, Streamlit, Claude Code, and Codex.
• Integrate, debug, and optimize data workflows using the MISys Manufacturing REST API and our Bronze-Silver-Gold data architecture.
• Develop clean, functional pages for inventory visibility, purchasing logic, and AI-generated insights.
• Troubleshoot issues end-to-end—including data extraction, caching, errors, and deployment—independently.
• Iterate rapidly: quickly prototype ideas, test, refine, and ship features.

• Nice to haves:
• Python skills and familiarity with web app development (Streamlit preferred).
• Experience working with APIs, JSON, and data manipulation in Python.
• Experience with OpenAI API or other LLM/AI tools
• Exposure to manufacturing, ERP/MRP systems, or supply chain systems
