Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a mid-level Software Developer with AI capabilities to modernize a large GrantSolutions portfolio in a Virginia-based, on-site role. You will enhance legacy systems, build cloud-native services in AWS, and develop AI-enabled capabilities to improve information access and automate workflows.

You will collaborate with architects, data teams, security, and Federal stakeholders to deliver phased modernization while maintaining mission continuity and governance across systems.

Qualifications

• OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust; adjudication required prior to onboarding.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5–8 years of software development, including legacy modernization and production support.
• Proficiency in one or more modern languages (Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#/.NET, Go).
• Experience engineering AI-enabled applications using foundation-model APIs or ML services.
• Ability to integrate AI with enterprise apps and governed data with strong security and governance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze legacy applications, data structures, interfaces, and rules to plan safe modernization increments.
• Refactor legacy apps and databases; develop new APIs, services, and cloud-native components.
• Build an integrated data layer with governed access to shared data via APIs and events.
• Develop interoperability between legacy and modern systems and vendor platforms.
• Design, prototype, and productionize AI capabilities aligned to business needs.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, encryption, and secrets management.
• Create unit, integration, contract, and performance tests; maintain CI/CD pipelines.
