Title: AI Software Engineer II

Operating Company: Environmental Solutions Group - 3rd Eye

Location: Austin TX or Chattanooga, TN

Reports to: Director, BI and Process Design

Department: Information Technology

POSITION SUMMARY:

The AI Software Engineer will develop, program, and train complex networks of algorithms that encompass AI, enabling them to function like a human brain. Must be an expert in software development, data science, data engineering, and programming, capable of extracting data from various sources, creating and testing machine learning models, and building AI applications using embedded code or APIs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

1. Model, build, and test AI software, including computer vision and machine learning models, to handle large data sets and achieve desired results.
2. Use Python, JavaScript, and C++ to develop faster, more capable AI solutions.
3. Analyze data, statistics, and algorithms for projection accuracy.
4. Use AI analysis to make strategic recommendations aligning with company goals.
5. Collaborate with machine-learning and data engineers for seamless AI development and integration.
6. Partner with firmware teams to deploy AI models on edge devices.
7. Proficiency with programming in embedded systems.
8. Develop and implement AI solutions for real-time processing on edge devices.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design efficient edge computing solutions.
10. Stay current on AI trends, knowledge, and regulations.
11. Report progress to team leadership and stakeholders.
12. Minimal travel required, approximately 2-3 times a year for team events.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

General Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5+ years of experience with Python.

• Proficient Linux knowledge.
• Strong programming skills, especially in Python.
• Excellent knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, and Snowflake.
• Understanding of Agile development practices and continuous delivery.
• Experience with data ETL processes from multiple sources.
• Experience with test-driven development (TDD).
• Knowledge of Pandas Python frameworks.
• Proficient with version control systems (git).
• Proficient with Jenkins and build management tools.
• Strong organizational, mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle routine matters proactively.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop new functionalities.
• High judgment in materials, design, manufacturing, logistics, and compliance matters.
• Nice to have: Experience with AWS S3, Snowflake DB, Power BI.
