Job summary

Ameritas is seeking applicants to join the TechTrek cohort, a 12-month innovation-focused internship that applies AI and the software development lifecycle to create business-driven solutions across analysis, development, testing, security, and data engineering. The program may lead to preferred consideration for full-time roles.

Based in Lincoln, NE, the internship is hybrid, requiring part in-office and part remote work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Technical Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or another related field.
• Able to fulfill a year-round commitment – part-time during the academic school year and full-time during the summer.
• PT includes 10-20 hours a week.
• FT includes 30-40 hours a week.
• Self-starting approach to assignments.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively.
• Positive, self-motivated individual with high level of enthusiasm and willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities and assignments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Executes work with the highest degree of integrity and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop solutions utilizing software, including automation and development tools.
• Apply application development, data engineering and security principles in analyses and designs.
• Gather requirements through interviews and research.
• Document findings and present results to stakeholders for insights.
• Support creation of project artifacts and visualizations for internal or stakeholder use.
• Gain experience with IT and security resources.
• Perform hands-on software development work including coding, debugging and testing.
