Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a highly skilled AI Security Research & Red Team Engineer to join its Security Threat Detection, Response and Emulation organization in the United States. You will drive security research, adversary simulations, and purple teaming to strengthen Cloudflare's defenses against AI-driven threats.

This role emphasizes leadership, mentorship, and executive reporting, translating complex exploits into risk-based narratives for leadership and guiding product and engineering teams

Qualifications

• 4+ years in offensive security or related field.
• Deep knowledge of AI, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
• Experience with red team exercises and cloud security.
• Ability to map threats to MITRE ATT&CK techniques.
• Strong communication for executive reporting.

Responsibilities

• AI Security and Vulnerability Research: Stay current with threats and identify AI-specific risks.
• Agentic testing and adoption: Identify AI-related attack surfaces through testing of agentic implementations and LLM usage.
• Adversary Simulation: Execute full-chain red team operations.
• Efficacy Testing: Establish a framework for testing detections against known TTPs.
• Purple Teaming: Collaborate with Blue Team to translate findings into defenses.
• Mentorship & Growth: Lead technically and foster curiosity and ethical hacking.
• Executive Reporting: Translate exploits into risk-based narratives for leadership.
