Job summary

Old Dominion University’s School of Cybersecurity invites applications for Associate or Full Professor of AI Security (Tenure-Track/Tenured) beginning Fall 2027. This cluster hire supports Trustworthy AI and seeks candidates to develop a vigorous, externally funded multidisciplinary program and contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.

The hire will join the AI Security Institute (AISI), collaborate across disciplines, mentor students, and help shape ODU’s AI security research portfolio

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related to Cybersecurity.
• Ability to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Strong research record in AI security with external funding.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and institutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop a vigorous, high-impact externally funded multidisciplinary research program.
• Mentor graduate students and contribute to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Collaborate with the AI Security Institute and other departments across campus.
• Build a sustainable research portfolio aligned with Trustworthy AI initiatives.
