Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Lead AI Security Engineer to protect enterprise microservices APIs across web and mobile environments. You will partner with engineering and business stakeholders to improve security and observability using AI-driven detection and automation.

The role requires 5+ years securing APIs and cloud-native architectures, strong leadership, and deep expertise in AI security and observability. Hybrid work and enterprise impact are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years securing APIs, web apps and service-to-service communications.
• Experience with microservices, REST APIs, GraphQL and event-driven architectures.
• Experience in AI security and LLM application security testing, including agentic platforms.
• Lead-level collaboration with application teams and business stakeholders.
• Strong ownership to triage events and deliver secure solutions end-to-end.
• Solid observability design using logs, traces, metrics and event streams.
• Strong automation, scripting skills to analyze telemetry and security events.
• Strong risk assessment for exposed endpoints and public services.
• Excellent communication to present findings and mitigation plans.
• English proficiency at least Upper-Intermediate (B2).

Responsibilities

• Implement security controls for web applications, APIs, microservices and AI-enabled services.
• Design observability for REST and GraphQL APIs and critical workflows.
• Leverage AI and automation to analyze telemetry, logs and security events.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to exposed endpoints and public services.
• Coordinate with teams and stakeholders to validate workflows and resolve issues.
• Develop runbooks and troubleshooting procedures for recurring endpoint issues.
