Job summary

Vanguard seeks a Senior AI Security leader to set the strategy and roadmap for AISPM discovery and detection across enterprise environments. You will drive the inventory of AI systems, oversee the detection lifecycle, and partner with security, technology, risk, and legal teams to translate AI risks into actionable controls.

You will recruit and develop a high-performing AI Security team to advance our capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cyber Security, with at least 2 years focused on Cloud Security, Data Security, or AI/ML Security.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Preferred certifications: CISSP, CCSP.

• Partner across security, technology, data, risk, legal, privacy, and business teams to translate AI risks into controls.
• Define metrics and reporting on discovery coverage, inventory, detection effectiveness, and risk reduction.
• Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing AI Security team.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategy and roadmap for AI Security Posture Management (AISPM) Discovery and Detection, including priorities, operating model, and measures of success.
• Lead enterprise-wide discovery and inventory of AI systems and usage across endpoints, network, cloud platforms, and SaaS applications including both approved and unapproved AI.
• Build and mature AI-focused detection capabilities that identify Shadow AI, policy violations, suspicious activity, and abnormal behavior within approved AI systems.
• Oversee the detection lifecycle, including use-case development, prioritization, testing, deployment, tuning, coverage assessment, and integration with security monitoring and incident-response processes.
• Partner across security, technology, data, risk, legal, privacy, and business teams to translate AI risks and policies into actionable discovery and monitoring controls and requirements.
• Define meaningful metrics and reporting that communicate AI discovery coverage, inventory completeness, detection effectiveness, unauthorized usage trends, control gaps, and risk reduction.
• Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring the AI Security team is a sought-after location for talented technical talent to continue learning and evolving their craft.
