Job summary

PennEngineering is hiring a Senior Developer Security Architect in Danboro, PA to lead security architecture and hands-on engineering across AI-enabled platforms. You’ll secure cloud infrastructure, design governance, and integrate automated tooling into CI/CD pipelines while partnering with engineering and product teams.

The role emphasizes building scalable security controls, threat modeling, and incident response in a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in cloud security, DevSecOps, or security engineering.
• 3+ years in an architect-level role.
• Deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture and security services (IAM, Security Hub, GuardDuty, Config, KMS, VPC, CloudTrail).
• Experience integrating automated security tooling into CI/CD pipelines (SAST, SCA, DAST).
• Hands-on with infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code (Terraform, AWS CDK).
• Strong scripting in Python, Go, or Bash; build custom security tools.
• Experience securing containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS).
• Vulnerability management, threat modeling, incident response in cloud-native env.
• Excellent communication to translate security risks for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Cloud Security Posture: assess, harden, and elevate AWS cloud posture for customer and internal systems.
• CI/CD: integrate automated security scanning and enforce checks in pipelines; pre-commit hooks and PR checks.
• Governance: policy-as-code with Terraform/AWS Config; audit-ready documentation.
• Cloud Operations: maintain AWS security health; automate threat telemetry and response workflows.
• AI security architecture: define security for AI/LLM platforms and ensure governance across AI workloads.
