Job summary

Newberry Group seeks an experienced AI Security Architect to support a DISA customer. The role provides security engineering guidance for secure AI/ML solutions, including LLMs and generative AI, across training, deployment, and inference.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in security architecture, a DoD Top Secret clearance, and DoD/NIST RMF experience, with a hybrid onsite schedule in Fort Meade, MD or Chambersburg, PA.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in security architecture and engineering.
• Demonstrated experience securing AI/ML technologies including LLMs and generative AI.
• Strong knowledge of RMF, NIST SP 800-37/53, and NIST AI RMF.
• DoD 8140 Work Role 652 – Security Architect Certification requirement (e.g. CISSP, CSSLP, CISM, etc.).
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide security architecture and engineering guidance for AI/ML systems, LLMs, and supporting infrastructure.
• Apply AI RMF to AI/ML design, deployment, and operation.
• Identify mitigations for AI-specific threats and data poisoning risks.
• Architect and review secure data pipelines for AI/ML workloads.
• Translate cybersecurity requirements into practical engineering controls.
