Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory is seeking an AI researcher to lead AI for Science projects with national security implications. You will create, adapt, and evaluate modern AI methods, establish collaborations, and publish impactful research.

You will work with domain experts and Program Managers to identify opportunities, drive discovery, and contribute to AI-driven surrogate modeling and closed-loop design for scientific problems.

Qualifications

• PhD in AI, ML, CS, data science or engineering.
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals or conferences.
• Experience with modern AI/ML methods and related techniques.
• Proficient in Python and DL frameworks (PyTorch, JAX).
• Experience with containerized, cloud, HPC or distributed computing.
• Eligible for Interim Secret/Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
