ICF is offering a Software Engineer intern position as part of our AI research and development team. You will collaborate with researchers, engineers, data scientists to design and implement ML models, including large language models, for scalable AI solutions.

This is an entry-level, 10-week, full‑time internship starting in June and ending in August. The role is hybrid from our Reston, VA office, and housing or relocation assistance is not provided at this time.

Qualifications

• By start date, a minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours is required preferably in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Candidate must be a US citizen, reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and all work must be performed in the U.S.per contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the AI lifecycle across data acquisition, preprocessing, model design, training, optimization, deployment, monitoring and evaluation.
• Develop machine learning models including deep learning and large-scale models for NLP, CV, or generative AI.
• Analyze large datasets through exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to improve model performance.
• Write clean, production-level code in Python and C++ and participate in design sessions and code reviews.
