Job summary

EverQuote is seeking an AI Product Lead to own a groundbreaking insurance marketplace used by AI agents. You will shape agentic shopping experiences, own the data flow, and manage the MCP server and trust signals that enable agents to rely on our platform.

You will partner with AI platforms and cross-functional teams to set a forward-looking roadmap. You’ll lead with a bias for action, balancing speed and quality while maintaining clear communication with technical and non-technical

Qualifications

• Experience building AI products, ideally from an AI lab or AI-native team.
• Ability to test AI systems, anticipate failure, and rollback when needed.
• Understanding of agent systems, retrieval, orchestration, and trade-offs.
• Technical depth to participate in architecture or code reviews.
• Proficiency with light Python or SQL for data exploration.
• Strong communication and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the product roadmap for the marketplace, balancing agent needs, architecture constraints, and business direction.
• Own testing and quality: build eval sets, define agent failure modes, and determine success criteria.
• Track agent performance: completion, accuracy, speed, and handoffs.
• Build quick prototypes and test with real and test agents to learn before engineering commits.
• Translate agent-shopping learnings into data model and architectural changes.
• Collaborate with the AI technical lead and engineers on trade-offs, cost, and speed.
• Establish relationships with AI platforms and learn how they reach agents.
• Work transparently in the open, publishing mission, experiments, and findings.
• Provide leadership visibility into progress, learnings, and risks.
