Job summary

Institute for Progress in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Sourcing & Programs Staff to help build US AI state capacity by designing and running programs that identify exceptional talent for public service.

You will lead outreach to researchers, founders, and policy entrepreneurs, organize convenings and partnerships, and develop tools to surface candidates at scale. This role sits within the Emerging Technology team with contractors and operations support.

Qualifications

  • Design and run talent-identification programs end-to-end.
  • Ability to build relationships with researchers, founders, and policymakers.
  • Strong initiative, persistence, and willingness to pursue innovative solutions.
  • Extensive networks in AI research, policy, or adjacent fields.

Responsibilities

  • Build a bench of talent for public service.
  • Design programs to grow the AI policy field.
  • Organize convenings, conferences, and workshops.
  • Develop partnerships to reach beyond the existing network.
