Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking talented software engineers to drive Enterprise AI Platforms and Infrastructure initiatives within a Hybrid Cloud and AI-Native transformation.

You will work with Agile teams to accelerate automation and ensure secure, scalable software solutions that meet customer needs. You will partner with product management and design to gather requirements, write clean code with unit tests, and contribute to architecture while mentoring peers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of related experience.
• Master's degree plus 4 years of related experience.
• PhD plus 1 year of related experience.
• Ability to write clean, functional code and perform unit testing with secure coding practices.
• Experience in managing the software development lifecycle, debugging production issues, code reviews, threat modeling, and leading root cause analysis.
• Ability to lead projects end-to-end and mentor team members.

Responsibilities

• Develops functional, clean code and unit tests aligned with Cisco Design Thinking Principles.
• Partners with design, product management, and cross-functional teams to align solutions with customer needs and gather requirements.
• Creates technical design documentation and contributes to end-user guides; performs code reviews for scale, velocity, reliability and security.
• Debugs and addresses software issues during development and in production; acts as escalation point for on-call issues; leads postmortems and root cause analyses.
• Identifies and recommends improvements to the software development lifecycle, Agile practices and product innovation.
• Functions as an advanced professional with deep knowledge to improve products and services.
• Works independently with minimal guidance on complex tasks.
• Leads projects from end-to-end and may contribute to roadmaps.
• Acts as a resource mentoring peers or juniors and sharing knowledge through presentations or blogs.
• Integrates product sense and tracks metrics to identify opportunities across products.
