Job summary

Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, a Danaher operating company, seeks an AI Platform Engineer to build the backend platform powering intelligent automation across scientific workflows. You will enable AI agents to securely access data, orchestrate experiments, and integrate with instrument ecosystems in a scalable, production-ready system.

You will work with a team of engineers in San Jose, CA and Indianapolis, IN, reporting to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering - Automation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications or multi-agent systems.
• Experience designing AI platforms and services that securely integrate enterprise data and tools.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and rapid prototyping of AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop AI platform services and agent-facing APIs.
• Design scalable data and context management for LL-powered systems.
• Build orchestration services for coordinating AI agents, devices, and software.
• Define data contracts, integration standards, and observability practices.
• Prototype, evaluate, and benchmark emerging AI technologies and mature successful solutions.
