Nucor Corporation's Nucor Business Technology (NBT) in Dallas seeks a Software Architect to set the technical direction for next-generation manufacturing software. This hands-on architect role owns solution design, architecture, and end-to-end development, elevating engineering standards across the MES, ERP, and data fabric.

You will define patterns, select technologies, integrate with mills and enterprise teams, and weave AI-native capabilities into products, using retrieval-augmented

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years building and shipping production software with architecture/leadership responsibility.
• Proven architecture skills: distributed systems, API design, data modeling, build-vs-buy.
• Deep AI/LLM capability: architecting AI-native systems and using AI tooling.
• Experience with API/event-driven integration across system boundaries.
• Azure cloud architecture experience.

Responsibilities

• Define patterns, standards, and guardrails for enterprise software.
• Lead architecture of MES/ERP modernization and data fabric integration.
• Make build-versus-buy and technology-selection decisions with stakeholders.
• Architect AI-native components and integrate AI tooling into the lifecycle.
