Pennymac in Westlake Village, CA is seeking a Senior AI-Native Full Stack Developer to join the Digital Customer Experience team. You will lead development of customer-facing platforms and APIs, leveraging AI tooling to accelerate delivery and ensure robust, scalable code.

The role emphasizes monorepo stewardship, payments rules logic, and mentorship, with ReactJS, Node.js/TypeScript, and cloud/IaC familiarity. Office-based role with competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, engineering, or related field with 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in ReactJS and frontend patterns, along with strong Node.js/TypeScript backend skills.
• Proven track record of incorporating AI coding assistants into daily workflow to boost speed and accuracy.
• Experience managing multi-project monorepos and decomposing complex modules into reusable utilities.
• Experience developing financial checkout systems or complex business logic flows.

Responsibilities

• Monorepo & Full-Stack Codebase Stewardship: Maintain and optimize React/TypeScript frontend and Node.js backends.
• Domain Ownership (Payments & Rules Engine): Design and safeguard payment rules, fee calculations, and validation flows.
• AI-Augmented Engineering: Leverage AI tools to accelerate development and improve test coverage.
• Code Health & Complexity Management: Refactor to reduce cyclomatic complexity and modularize codebase.
• Mentorship & AI Standards: Guide junior engineers in AI-augmented coding practices.
• CI/CD, IaC & Automation: Own delivery pipelines and IaC workflows with DevOps.
